Oh, excellent!  I was quite pleased with this current take on the tale of Snow White.  The story was fascinating, and Chalize Theron indeed made for the consummate queen-bitch!  I would recommend to anyone seeking to watch an adventure film to take the time out for viewing this particular movie.

Snow White and The Huntsman begins with the queen losing three drops of blood as she dreamt of a child as white as snow.  This royal is Queen Eleanor, who is the wife of King Magnus (Noah Huntley).  The princess is Snow White (Kristen Stewart), who is caring and kind.  It was after her mother died that a dark army raided her kingdom, yet they were defeated by her father’s army.  The king rescued the enemy princess, fell in love with her, then he married her.

Magnus chose a new Queen, Ravenna (Charlize Theron).  As she assumed leadership of the kingdom, she revealed her powers of sorcery, and she killed Magnus.  Upon realizing this, Magnus’ loyal soldier Duke Hammond (Vincent Regan) assists Snow White with trying to escape.  However, they are caught by Ravenna’s forces, and Snow White is trapped within the castle dungeon!

Now in control of the kingdom, Ravenna regularly turns to her magical mirror, constantly questioning it:  “Mirror, mirror on the wall.  Who is the fairest of them all?”  At any point that the mirror reveals another woman to be more lovely than Ravenna, she has the woman captured and killed!

As several years pass, Ravenna continues with her beauty checks at her mirror.  The reflective glass eventually informs her that Snow White has become more lovely, and to maintain her superiority of beauty, Ravenna must eat Snow White’s heart.  So, Ravenna seeks a soldier to capture the princess.  She gets the help of her brother, Finn (Sam Spruell), and she finds a drunkard called The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), whom she assigns to catch Snow White.

The Huntsman is well-travelled within The Dark Forest, and he knows where to look for where Snow White may be hiding.  Yet, upon locating her, The Huntsman is enchanted by her beauty, which leads him to become her protector.  He assists Snow White with reaching the kingdom of Duke Hammond (Vincent Regan), and he falls in love with her.

It is in the forest where The Huntsman begins to train Snow White for combat.  At this time, she encounters other forest dwellers, the dwarves, who help snow with battle preparation, while offering shelter and assistance to her.   Also, she comes within the presence of a magical stag, which allows Snow White to realize that she has been chosen to bring peace to the land.

A dwarf hunter appeared, shooting an arrow at the magical stag.  Then, Snow White was chased by this hunter called Gus, who was killed by The Huntsman.  This dwarf archer’s death brought pain to Ravenna, aging her more.   So, Snow White proceeded with The Huntsman, who told her of the people’s hatred for the queen.

Snow White was given an apple by a secret agent of Ravenna.  She foolishly bit into the apple from the unknown agent, and Ravenna appeared to watch this happen.  The evil queen had aged greatly, yet a funeral was prepared for Snow White.  As Snow’s body lay in preparation, The Huntsman whispered to her that she reminded him of his former wife.  He kissed Snow White, which rescuscitated her, and caused her to shed a tear!

Snow White appeared before the dwarves and other forest dwellers.  She spoke to them, inciting them to battle, and declaring that she would Kill Ravenna!  As they proceeded toward the castle, Ravenna awaited them.  The dwarves snuck into the castle, while the queen’s army attacked approaching riders with arrows and fire bombs.  The dwarves were able to open the castle gates, allowing Snow White and the fighters to enter the grounds!

Ravenna used her magic to crumble parts of the castle walls so that Snow and her fighters could not proceed.  Also, she called upon demonic soldiers to fight for her, as she was able to disarm Snow White.  Ravenna declared herself to be undefeatable, as she attempted to stab Snow White.  However, Snow stabbed Ravenna, telling the evil queen that she could not have her heart!  Upon Ravenna’s defeat, Snow White was crowned as the rightful queen!
