Leave Latifah Alone!

I would have to agree with one response that was given in response to this e-article printed on webpronews.com“Who gives a shit”?  For all of those with nothing better to do, a series of segments were released about Queen Latifah.  It is the latest of what has gotten to be an overload of attacks on her sexuality!

The Long Beach Gay Pride Festival was held during May.  Several performers highlighted the event, which included a May 19 performance from the highly-hailed Queen Latifah.  Her concert performance caught extra attention when she addressed the audience as “her people”.  People whom have long speculated about the sexuality of this rap and r&b superstar took advantage of the moment, declaring it as her coming out statement!

It was at the Long Beach concert where Queen Latifah gave a moment to speak with her fans.  She thanked them for their attendance, stating that she felt love and unity from the audience.  Some reporters and pressers of extraneous issues took her words as an alleged indication of her coming out!

The truth is that this is NOT what Queen Latifah said!  The r&b/rap superstar had to make clarifications later, as media ready to print an exciting story went ahead with her expression of gratitude to her audience as an actual public admission of homosexuality.  The addressing of the audience as “her people”, along with asking them if they felt the unity, was enough fuel for speculators of Queen Latifah’s sexual preference to get going with further ignitions to falsified stories of her being gay!

Queen Latifah, born Dana Owens, does not acknowledge the tales of her alleged admission to same-sex sexual preference.  During an interview with Enterainment Weekly, she stated that the issues of her personal life are not on the table for public review.  She has said that she has not addressed her sexuality before, and she has no plans to do so with any upcoming inquiries of the topic.
