Lo Esta Oficial….

¡Interesante!  Yo no supe eso.  I think that many people did not know that, as I am cautious to say that some Mexicans might not even have known that fact!  Well, it is good that it is being declared publicly.  Hopefully, it will be used within regular circulation, globally.

Out of my little pocket niche of the planet, I was not consistently aware that the official name of the nation that sits immediately south of The United States of America is The Mexican United StatesNo, it is not just México!  I am somewhat upset with myself for not immediately recalling, being immediately aware of that fact!

I think that I have spoken with some associates of Mexican familial legacy about the name of this nation being The Mexican United States.  Yet, it was a brief conversation, as the information did not stick.  I always have gone along with the so-called understanding that it is México, without doing any real fact-checking that might have lead me to an actual realization.

México won independence from Spain during 1821.  Three years later, during 1824, the leaders of the newly-formed nation deemed it with the official name of The Mexican United States.  Yet, it seems that only the politicians and international dealers of this nation actually use the official name.

Exiting Mexican President Felipe Calderón has made a legislative proposal to the nation’s congressional body.  This motion is to make the name be set officially as México.  Incoming Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto will work with the Mexican congress to decide as to whether or not the name change actually will be made.

El Presidente Calderón stated, “It’s time that we Mexicans retake the beauty and simplicity of our Motherland’s name:  México”.  Indeed, he likely is correct, as most people likely refer to the nation simply as México anyway (not pronouncing, or not knowing to pronounce the x with an h sound…).  Calderón likely is correct in stating that the rest of the world identifies them simply as México anyway, so he feels that their nation should stick with that, being proud of the single name!  ¡Lo está oficial!
