A Brief Recognition of Gold!

August 21, 2013 at 8:46 PM (curious research, environmental issues, human life issues, legal issues, science and technology, terrestrial studies, web gossip)

Gold!  It is not at all something with which we are unfamiliar.  For millennia, humanity has yearned for, relished after, and been wanton with the precious metal for reasons of all imagination. The beauty and the brilliance of it has made gold one of the most prime materials of the planet!

Albeit it likely has been a part of the planetary system since the origins of Earth, gold was discovered relatively recently. During the nineteenth century, within January of 1848, General John A. Sutter lead a group of miners in the mountainous regions of California. He and his team entered this area at Coloma, California. The workers ended up excavating a previously unknown element which turned out to be of extreme value! The miners digging within the caves of these mountains were able to dig out gold from beneath the layers of rock.

The gold that these miners excavated amounted to roughly twenty-three carats. It was a valuable discovery, yet it did not prove to be worthwhile for General Sutter and his workers. They wound up losing the diggings to Mexican people, neighbors, as well as rouge employees! Tough Stuff!!!

Gold is considered to be a precious metal, rated as 79 on The Periodic Table of Elements. It is rated above other precious metals that include silver, platinum, palladium, and rhodium. The only precious metal rated higher than gold currently is iridium, which is 77 on The Periodic Table.

Our Earth is the only place we know of to find solid gold deposits. Most of this is located beneath the continental grounds of Africa, The Americas, and Asia. It is the most precious of the precious metals on the planet, as we currently claim eight. These include gold, along with silver, platinum, palladium, osmium, iridium, rhodium, and ruthenium, all in that order.

Fantastic & Futuristic Fun Films For Friday!

August 10, 2013 at 3:28 AM (climate studies, comic book characters, current news, historic review, human life issues, legal issues, medical concerns, movie reviews, political atmosphere, public debate, science and technology, social opinion, web gossip)

I had been anticipating this evening’s features for a few weeks!  I was glad to have gotten to the local theater, so that I could enjoy each film thoroughly!  Whereas one was a continuation of an adventure story that is capturing the attention of action-seeking audiences, the second film forecast a future Earth where all is not set on equal terms for every person.

The excitement began with Percy Jackson:  Sea of Monsters!  The film is prefaced by letting the audience know that sometimes, the gods would have children with mortals, called half-bloods.  One of them is Percy (Logan Lerman), son of Poseidon, who found himself in competition to become the next champion of the demigod children.  Percy’s best friends are Clarisse (Leven Rambin) and Luke (Jake Abel).  They attend the Camp Half-Blood For Demi-God Children together.

At this camp, Camp Half-Blood, Percy meets his half-brother Tyson (Douglas Smith), who is a Cyclops.  Also, the camp is eyed, then raided by Luke (Jake Abel), who is the son of Hermes.  Luke has a vendetta against the gods, and he means to annihilate Mount Olympus!  He has gone out of the way to poison a magic tree that protects the camp, now leaving it free to attack.

However, Percy’s friend Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) has learned that The Golden Fleece can heal the tree.  The god Dionysus (Stanley Tucci) acquires this knowledge, and he sends two students, Tyson and Grover, to get hold of the fleece.  Annabeth and Percy accompany them.

The Oracle gives a prophecy that one of the three major gods will battle Luke.  Percy, with one of his friends, will either have to save Mount Olympus, or will have to eliminate it altogether.  Percy and his allies go to seek Luke, yet they are trapped by The Manticore.  The friends escape, yet they are caught and swallowed by The Charybdis, where they reunite with Clarisse.

The group escapes, managing to reach an amusement park.  There, they set Grover free, and they get hold of The Golden Fleece.   However, Luke arrives, stating that he means to use The Golden Fleece to awaken the god Kronos!  Luke then tries to murder Percy with an arrow, yet Tyson positions himself between the shot, taking the arrow instead.  Tyson winds up being brought back to life with water, as Kronos swallows Grover and Luke!

Percy is able to use his sword to attack and to reduce Kronos.  Then,  The Manticore ends up being killed by Clarisse and Grover.  It nearly killed Annabeth, but Percy used The Golden Fleece to bring her back to life!  Afterward, the friends return to Camp Half-Blood to use The Golden Fleece to bring the dying camp tree back to life!

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

Our second film was the anticipated Elysium!  By reaching the year 2154, there is a definite and deadly distinction between the haves and the have-nots!  All of those who have the luxuries of wealth, security, and personal satisfactions live within the Earth-orbiting space station called Elysium.  All else whom are impoverished, uneducated, and diseased live on Earth!

Jodie Foster stars as Delacourt, a ruthless leader of an Earth-orbiting luxury station called Elysium.  There, humans live in safety and security, with no fears or burdens.  All others remain on the planetary surface, dealing with the hardships of poverty, illness, warfare, and the darker sides od humanity.

Max (Matt Damon) works for Armadyne Corporation, which built Elysium.  It is during this work where he is exposed to lethal substances.  These toxic chemicals create a deadly condition within him, giving him only five days to live!  If Max wants to find a cure, he must leave Earth’s surface to reach Elysium!

His quest for assistance takes him to seek a man called Spider (Wagner Moura).  This man has helped Max before, so Max trusts him.  Spider assisted Max with sneaking into Elysium, and getting the medical supplies necessary to treat his chemical exposure.  Once inside the station, Max was able to get biogenetic technology to enhance himself, becoming stronger, as he got wiser to what was happening with Delacourt’s actions.  Yet, Delacourt learned of Max’s actions, and she sends scouts through L.A. to find him.

Spider got all of the details that he could use to give all of the Elysium residents on Earth.  Max does not help with singling out only Elysium citizens.  He deals with Kruger to get him to change Spider’s methods of operation.

While returning to Elysium, a fight occurs.  Kruger is shot.  All passengers are returned to Delacourt.  She reprimands Kruger for encouraging the shot, and he stabs her!  Delacourt dies!  Kruger proceeds to raid Elysium, seeking Max, while chasing Spider as well!

Kruger encounters Max, and a fight ensues!   The fight seems brief, and Max kills Kruger!  Max then gets into the main computer room, logging onto Elysium’s main drive.  Max starts the main systems, accessing all of the major population links, where he is able make all people legal citizens of Elysium.   As the computer does this, Max dies.

Bring the Rain!

August 3, 2013 at 2:57 AM (current news, human life issues, legal issues, movie reviews, public debate, social opinion, tv reviews, web gossip)

This was one feature that film fans had been hollering for throughout the summer!  Two of Hollywood’s hot-daddies were billed as dual headliners in an action flick that was certain to entice audiences, while the theatrics lit up the big screen.  Yes, 2 Guns did “bring the rain”!

The film begins with U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Mark Wahlberg) working with Drug Enforcement Agency agent Bobby Trench (Denzel Washington) on an undercover assignment to trace drug kingpins.  Their mission has been to infiltrate the network of a Mexican drug cartel, and danger comes at every turn!

Stigman and Trench are not exactly friendly with one another, having been forced into partnership by their agencies.  They realize that they must work together, as their mission can become lethal at any moment.  This becomes especially dangerous with the allied addition of Trench’s girlfriend, Deb (Paula Patton) to their assignment.  Now, the group must work together to track down and catch the drug traffickers while dealing with personal issues that have the potential to destroy the entire case!

2 Guns

August still has several films left for the month!  Next week will feature the releases of the anticipated science-fiction film Elysium, starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster!  The same date carries Percy Jackson:  Sea of Monsters and We’re The Millers!  August 16 will have Jim Carrey leading a cast in Kick Ass 2, along with Oprah Winfrey’s The Butler!  That day also has the openings of Jobs and Paranoia!

On the Way Out, Cassini Captures More Cosmic Curiosities of Saturn!

July 29, 2013 at 6:16 PM (astronomy topics, curious research, current news, extraterrestrial studies, historic review, science and technology, web gossip)

I really get somewhat upset when journalists and semi-scientists post information about so-called “other Earths” having been located in other places throughout the galaxy.  That is not the exact truth.  No other world has yet to be located that is anything akin to our Earth.  Water has NOT been found anywhere else outside of Earth.  Life has NOT been found anywhere else outside of Earth.  As these are the main things that classify Earth as Earth, classifying anything else as such is erroneous!

Anyhow.  An article from Yahoo/Reuters gives details about a recent information release from a N.A.S.A. space probe.  Apparently, this particular probe has been on it’s voyage for some time, and it has passed a distance of 900 million miles beyond Saturn.  The probe was able to reverse it’s positioning in order to photograph images of the solar system behind it.  One captivating picture was that of Planet Earth, in the distance!

Scientists working with The Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Pasadena, California are constantly reviewing and studying information that is received from satellites about what is occurring within outer space.  Recent researches are recognizing that our beloved Earth is little more than a dot among countless dots in the night sky, as depicted by Cassini.  The actual image of Earth and her moon take up no more than the space of one pixel!

Renowned scientific researcher Carolyn Porco has stated that the imaging of Earth from this distant vantage “underscores our coming of age as planetary explorers”.  Dr. Porco has directed the Cassini imaging program with The Space Science Institute at Boulder, Colorado.  It is, perhaps, that the images of Cassini from Saturn are giving humanity the necessary boost of enthusiasm for further reviews and attempts at exploring our solar system.  Certainly the magnificence of the images by the Cassini probe are undeniable, and they surely can be taken as catalysts for the next steps in human advancement toward a truly space-faring society.

The reverse images made by Cassini are supposed to have been a rare occurrence!  Space probes within the distant reaches of the solar system do not aim backward, so that their instruments are not damaged by rays from The Sun.  However, Cassini was able to turn around for it’s picturing of Saturn because of the gargantuan gas giant temporarily blocking our star’s powerful beams from the probe’s line of sight.

The Wolverine Is A WOW!

July 27, 2013 at 2:09 AM (comic book characters, curious research, current news, human life issues, late night studies, movie reviews, music and entertainment, public debate, social opinion, tv reviews, web gossip)

Like so many X-Men fanatics, I had been eagerly anticipating my chance to see the film The Wolverine!  I was glad when the day arrived for which I had made plans to be at my regular theater to view the film, and I saw that I was not alone in my eagerness for this adventure.  This recent release to the Marvel Comics franchise certainly stabbed at entries of expectation!

The movie begins with a pre-adamantium Logan (Hugh Jackman) in Japan, during World War II.  He is at Hiroshima at the time of the dropping of the atomic bomb.  Logan is in an area where he suffers the effects of the blast, as we see his flesh boiled from his body, yet regenerated time and time again due to his mutant healing capacity.

He escapes the area of the blast, getting to a place where he can rest.  During this time, he imagines Jean Grey (Famke Jannsen), and the images become frightening.  Logan leaves, walking into the woods, then to a gas station.  He sees men at this gas station who have a dead bear on their vehicle, and this bear was friendly to Logan while he was in the woods.  An altercation ensues, a Logan asks about the killed bear, the men get snide with him, and one man even strikes at Logan!

An altercation breaks out, yet Logan sees a girl.  He is hit, but he breaks free from the fight, getting away with the girl.  She is identified as Ariyako, and she means to give Logan a sword from Master Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi).  He also wants Logan to fly to Japan, yet Logan does not want to go.  Ariyako ends up convincing Logan to take the trip to Japan.

They arrive in the eastern nation, getting to the residence of Master Yashida.  Logan still is ragged from previous fights, so he is taken to be cleaned by caretakers within Yashida’s home.  Once refreshed, he is taken to a lab, where a doctor offers Logan the chance to be freed of his seeming immortality.  This doctor wants Logan’s power in order to protect his granddaughter Mariko (Tao Okamato) from attacking Yakuza gangsters!

Logan again finds himself dreaming of Jean.  He is interrupted by the leader of a Japanese fighting group with which he had prior affiliations.  This person thought that Logan was dead.  However, Logan and this man go on to attend the funeral of Master Yashida.  The ceremony is interrupted, and gunfire erupts!  Another mutant attacks Logan, as Yakuza attempt to get hold of Mariko.  As some Yakuza run away, Logan is stabbed by sword through his abdomen, yet he chases his attackers!  Mariko has been separated from him.

Mariko gets onto a speeding train, as Logan follows her, with Yakuza trailing them!  Logan remains injured, yet he moves through the cars of the train, followed by sword-wielding attackers.  He and Mariko both are chased and attacked, as a fight ensues through the cars, with Logan stabbing Yakuza as the train took them to a stop at a hotel station.  There, both of them got out, checking into a room overnight.

Logan acts as a sentry outside while Mariko sleeps that night.  He has images of Jean, and he collapses from being hurt during the prior fight with the Yakuza.  He wakes up to see that his healing capacity remains lost, yet he has been stitched by a worker of the motel in which they have been resting, who happens to be a veterinarian!  Yet, the villains Harada and Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) have connected, and Viper now is after Logan and Mariko!

Once they have reached Nagasaki, Logan and Mariko are growing fond of one another.  He tells her of his past, as she has images of Logan dying.  Mariko wants to tell Logan about these visions, yet she does not get the chance to do so.  Mariko is caught, surprisingly by a kidnapper who was ordered to do so by her own father!

Later, Shingen tells the other members of Yashida Corporation that Mariko has departed the business empire.  He means to kill her when his Black Ninjas arrive with Viper!  However, Harada saves Mariko, as Viper poisons Shingen!

Logan gets to Yashida Corporation headquarters, where he gets hold of medical tools to remove the parasite that has been responsible for the attempted elimination of his mutant powers.  He later fights Shingen, who is in the midst of trying to kill Yukio.  He kills Shingen, then goes with Yukio to go after Harada and Viper.  As they reach a research center where the enemies are at, Logan is attacked and caught by Harada!

Viper has Logan put into a machine that can remove his capacity for immortality.  She lets him meet Silver Samurai, who was a super-heated, Adamantium sword!  Yet, Mariko gets free to assist Logan, breaking Silver Samurai’s sword!  Harada has a change of heart while in battle, opting to help Logan to escape, yet he gets killed by Silver Samurai.  Yukio overcomes Viper by hanging her!

Logan gets into a death fight with Silver Samurai!  He ends up having his Adamantium claws cut off, and his powers of immortality being taken away from him.  Silver Samurai then shows himself to be Yashida, having faked his death all along.  Yet, Mariko steps in, stabbing Yashida with Logan’s cut-off claws, and letting Logan toss Yashida over a cliff!  As Logan passes out unconscious, he hallucinates of Jean Grey, seeming to move beyond her dying.  Mariko does go onto become the C.E.O. of Yashida  Corporation, while Yukio remains with Logan as his bodyguard, as they travel to locations yet to be revealed!

After the credits, we see that Logan returns to The U.S. two years later, and he is approached by Magneto (Sir Ian McKellan)!  The lord of magnetism allegedly needs The Wolverine’s assistance with combating a new threat against mutants that means to attempt total mutant extermination!  As Logan questions why he should trust Magneto, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) arrives!  As Logan asks how it is that Charles is alive, The Professor pointedly reminds him that he is not the only one with gifts!  MORE IS TO COME!!!!

The Wolverine posterUS.jpg

Of course, more films always are around the way!  Next week has Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington in 2 Guns!  More of August is exciting with other eagerly-awaited films!  These include Afternoon Delight, The Butler, Elysium, Kick Ass 2, and The Mortal Instruments:  City of Bones!

Recognizing and Reviving The Great Barrier Reef!

July 21, 2013 at 8:49 PM (animal activism, climate studies, curious research, current news, environmental issues, historic review, human life issues, political atmosphere, public debate, social opinion, terrestrial studies, web gossip)

It is like we just are not getting the general message.  Planet Earth is NOT ours to do with in any manner that we please!  It may seem that way, to the buffoons that do not know any better, yet the consequences will rebound!  It might not be right now, yet our grandchildren, or perhaps their grandchildren, will have to suffer through what we are creating.

One of the latest incidences of human insanity is what occurred off of the Australian coast last week.  The United States Marines and Navy were having joint military training exercises in conjunction with military forces from Australia.  It was a training event held every two years, called Talisman Saber.  This exercise combines a total of 28,000 troops from Australia and The U.S. for a three-week combat training program.

At some point during the training last week, two U.S. AV-8B Harrier fighter jets were launched from The U.S.S. Bonhomme Richard to participate in fighter exercises.  Both jets fired nullified bombs, including one laser-guided explosive, into the waters off of Australia’s northwestern coast.  The bombs did not explode, and they were said to have been dropped into the ocean waters over 164 feet away from The Great Barrier Reef, as so “to minimalize possible damage”.

Well, there is outrage to this action!  Any damage, minimal, or otherwise, is outrageous!  Albeit we are the self-proclaimed dominant species of Earth (no one else has yet to challenge us…), we must recognize that designation comes with the responsibility of maintaining and protecting this planet.  Something so precious and pristine as The Great Barrier Reef needs to be nurtured regularly, I stumble to say even fortified.  We can NOT continue to disregard it blithely, as if it will be there forever, littering within it, destroying it’s plant and animal life, ruining it’s surrounding waters, and just generally shitting upon it with broad smiles! NO, damn it!

Senator Larissa Waters of Australia’s Green Party, has spoken on the recent dumping at The Great Barrier Reef.  Senator Waters has called the dumping outrageous, as she asked The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, “have we gone completely mad”?  The Australian politician stands firmly against forces of other nations dropping bombs into the waters off of her nation’s coasts, especially in the face of destroying wildlife.

It almost seems as if the message is not getting out.  Every other day, there is a new message about something new that is happening harmful to some portion of our planet.   Not enough people care because nothing is happening to cut us in our faces actually and directly for us to take notice, then to take meaningful action!  When it is too late, it will be too late, yet we can do more to save things before it reaches that fateful point!

A Mixture of Emotions While Mourning A Meaningless Loss

July 15, 2013 at 11:53 AM (childcare and child protection, curious research, current news, human life issues, legal issues, political atmosphere, public debate, social opinion, web gossip)

Not guilty!  What is there to say?  Certainly, the radios, papers, and talk shows will be filled with conversation for weeks after this recent revelation of outcome.  Certainly, the nation will be filled with enlivened opinions about the results of this jury’s verdict.

George Zimmerman has been declared not guilty on the charges of murdering Trayvon Benjamin Martin!  A jury of six females deliberated for sixteen and one-half hours, spanning over two days, to reach a final verdict of not guilty of second-degree murder.  Five of the jurors were White, and one was of a minority ethnicity.

The statement is that the jurors reached this verdict because they truly did not believe that George Zimmerman did not murder Trayvon Martin with intent.  It is being said that his shot was not meant to kill Trayvon Martin.  According to Florida laws, George Zimmerman did abide by The Stand Your Ground Law.  This is the conclusion that the jurors reached, and due to this, George Zimmerman is a free man, who will soon be allowed to have free access to his gun.

Interviews were given to the family of George Zimmerman.  His brother, Robert, stated that he was relieved that the entire ordeal has ended.  He stated that the Zimmerman family feels the same way.  Robert Zimmerman has received feeds through Twitter about people wanting to kill George!  Due to this, and likely because of other issues surrounding this trial, Robert Zimmerman fears for his brother George’s life.

Understandably, Trayvon Martin’s parents are devastated by this entire affair.  His father, Tracy Martin, and his mother, Sabrina Martin, both remain saddened.  Both parents stood through the trial at The Seminole County Courthouse to show solidarity and support for their child in the face of incredible pain, and one of the most horrific levels of loss.  Even after all had been completed with the trial, Mr. Tracy Martin was able to tweet, “even though  I am brokenhearted, my faith is un-shattered.  I will ALWAYS love my baby Tray”.

Deep-Sea Monsters At the Movies!

July 13, 2013 at 2:49 AM (current news, human life issues, movie reviews, music and entertainment, social opinion, web gossip)

Friday is film day!  Only one movie made the cut for us today, though we could have caught a second film.  Actually, after seeing the movie that we did see, we probably would have seen the other movie instead!  No matter; we saw what we saw!

Our feature film for this week was Pacific Rim!  The film begins with the display of an ancient rift beneath the sea floor of The Pacific Ocean.  It is from this breach of the ground that enormous creatures called Kaiju arise and attack!  Nations of the world immediately band together in response, creating a pact that will allow their militaries to unite for the purpose of battling the marine monsters.

Extreme and enormous robots called Jaegers are created to battle the Kaiju.  The Jaegers begin fighting the Kaiju at first, yet they come to a stand-off against the monsters.   Fighters Raleigh Becket (Charlie Hunnam), Yancy Becket (Diego Klattenhoff), and Mako Maori (Rinko Kikuchi) are returning to the military program to train as pilots for the Jaegers.  They have an initially disastrous test run of the Jaegers, yet the team is forced to regroup.  Hong Kong has been destroyed by the Kaiju, and the forces are needed now!

Dr. Newton Geizler (Charlie Day) has been experimenting with mechanical technology and mental advancement.  He has been testing with links to the brain and potential devices to enhance mental capacity.  In his fervor to create more works, Dr. Geizler sneaks the assistance of black market operator Hannibal Chau (Ron Perlman) to deliver more kaiju brain materials.  Chau is critical of Geizler’s efforts, yet he does opt to go ahead with getting the brain materials from the Kaiju monsters.  Yet, this is a fatal move for Chau, as he is killed in this operation!

Kaiju advance toward Hong Kong, attacking it!  China has the assistance of Australia and Russia to defend it against the monsters, but their forces are destroyed quickly by the Kaiju.  The Jaegers controlled by Mako and Raleigh manage to stop the attack!

Dr. Geizler has completed an experiment that allowed him to access the Kaiju brain.  It was a nearly deadly test, yet Dr. Geizler learned that the Kaiju really are biological machines sent from another world.  They are being used by their alien hosts as some manners of a step-one colonization plan!

As Dr. Geizler’s experiment became expansive, it drew the attention of Kaiju at their home world!  More arrived at Earth, proceeding to Hong Kong to find Dr. Geizler.   As one Kaiju is seen by Geizler, it is revealed to be pregnant.  It dies, then it’s baby attacks Hannibal Chau and his attack forces.  After eating Chau, the newborn Kaiju then dies before it can do any more damage!

Dr. Geizler and a colleague enter the dead Kaiju’s brain, where they discover a portal that allowed passage from the alien world to Earth.  Jaeger machines are gathered, and a nuclear device is prepared for one to be deployed undersea.  As Jaegers prepare to submerge for placement of the bomb,  Geizler and Gottleib discover and underwater portal which allows the passage of only Kaiju!

Combative forces gather to battle the Kaiju.  A nuclear bomb is made to destroy them once and for all.  A risky mission is embarked upon to enter the undersea portal, yet Kaiju emerge to attack!  One of the Kaiju is the biggest one that has been seen yet, and the human forces end up detonating bombs, killing themselves to destroy the Kaiju before they can reach the surface!

At the end, Raleigh and Mako get hold of a kaiju carcass, which they use to get through the wormhole.  They enter the Kaiju dimension, where Raleigh creates a nuclear bomb.  It explodes as he and Mako escape!

Pacific Rim FilmPoster.jpeg

Next week has six features that plan to pull people to the big screens!  The big films include The Conjuring (Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Patrick Wilson), Girl Most Likely (Annette Benning, Darren Criss, Matt Dillon, Kristen Wiig), Only God Forgives (Ryan Gosling, Vithaya Pansringarm, Yayaying Rhatha Phongham, Kristin Scott Thomas) Red 2 (Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis), R.I.P.D. (Kevin Bacon, Jeff Bridges, Mary-Louise Parker, Ryan Reynolds), and Turbo (voices of Paul Giamatti, Samuel L. Jackson, Ryan Reynolds, and Maya Rudolph).  We will pick the two that seem the best for that day!

Of course, some can be saved for the following Friday!  Several movies will premiere that week, yet only one will be on the must-see list.  The highly-anticipated The Wolverine opens Friday, July 26!  That same day sees the openings of Blue Jasmine and The To Do List!  That will wrap up July 2013 movie releases!

I was peepin’ in some mirrors…..

Late-Night Cosmic Curiosities!

July 8, 2013 at 1:47 AM (astronomy topics, curious research, current news, extraterrestrial studies, late night studies, science and technology, web gossip)

Something is out there, damn it!  One of these days, sooner or later, we will find out who, or what it is (whether we like it, or not…)!  With strange signals popping off in the distance, one can not help but to be intrigued by what is being displayed.  I am the cat, after all……  (I heard that).

It does seem that there are some strange signals being sent our way, from the depths of the unknown.  It began during 2007, when a team of scientists was studying signals from an unknown area of our Milky Way Galaxy.  This initial study produced results that lasted merely one or two seconds.  A subsequent effort was made to track these same signals during 2011, yet that attempt was without merit.

Currently, there seem to be around 10,000 radio wave signals being received daily by telescopes here on Earth that are equipped to receive deep space emissions.  At present, these recently discovered radio signals remain mysterious.  However, it has been recognized as fact that these signals are truly occurring, and that they are real!

Parkes Radio Telescope and Parkes Observatory are being centered as the location for enhanced research geared toward deep space radio emissions tracking, along with similarly related astronomy fields of study.  Studies at Parkes have lead to the reception of four additional and mysterious signal bursts!  Scientists who studied these bursts have concluded that the emissions occur regularly, and that they occur all throughout the universe!

As these emissions remain mysterious, scientists are bolstered in there efforts to study them because they now know where to find them.  Future studies will reveal the mechanics behind the bursts.  The immediate presentations of the information have given evidence that can be studied to renowned minds like Dr. Stephen Hawking.  He is of the current impression that these bursts could be the emissions of dissolving, evaporating black holes!

As Dr. Hawking is Dr. Hawking, he probably is right!  Yet, the evidence is not solid, so they still are doing the research.  Meanwhile, the ongoing outlook progresses, and all frequency stations will remain tuned!

If Such A Thing Was Possible…..

June 29, 2013 at 2:33 AM (curious research, historic review, human life issues, legal issues, movie reviews, political atmosphere, public debate, social opinion, web gossip)

Movie day returned, with only one selection this week.  We chose to view White House Down, as the action trailers made the film seem appealing!  Plus, having Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum in the film was not bad, either!

The movie starts with John Cale (Channing Tatum) getting to The White House to interview for the position of Secret Service Agent.  Cale has his toddler daughter with him, as he encounters Secret Service Agent Carol Finnerty (Maggie Gyllenhaal).  She is a former classmate of Cale’s, who believes him to be immature, and incapable of handling a job as demanding as that of one that protects The President of The United States!

Cale does interview for the position, yet he is denied the job. As he is exiting with his daughter, Cale notices that people are starting to run wildly within the building, then gunfire is heard!  No one notices a man dressed as a janitor walking to the center of The U.S. Capitol, as he drops a bomb, and it explodes!

Speaker of The House Eli Ralpherson (Richard Jenkins) was taken to an underground location, and Vice-President Alvin Hammond (Michael Murphy) was put aboard Air Force One.  As The White House itself was supposed to be secured, terrorists have invaded the most secured grounds on the planet.  The White House has fallen!

As the main building is filled with terrorists, Cale’s daughter, Emily (Joey King) gets away to hide.  She has a cell phone with her, and she wisely begins to video-record what she is seeing.  Yet, the terrorists learn of Emily’s presence, as they make motions to get hold of the young girl.  They then tell Cale to surrender, or they will kill Emily!

Now hyped to save his daughter, Cale makes actions to combat the terrorists.  He plans on how to get into the secured areas of The White House to rescue President Sawyer (Jamie Foxx).  Once with The President, both Cale and Sawyer plan to figure out what is happening, and how to rectify the situation in order to save the nation!

There are a few twists toward the end, with some unexpected moments!  Yet, this actually was a decent film.  Some of the of the lines were a bit cheesy, yet I suppose that was to come with the particular turf.  The film was good, for what it could give the audience!

White House Down (2013) Poster

I am jumping really ahead with potential postings for things I saw like Independence Day 2 and Transformers 4WOW!!!  Yet, on a more immediate note, trailers for fabulous films on the way include Blue Jasmine, The Conjuring, Despicable Me 2, Girl Most Likely, Fruitvale Station, Grown Ups 2, Let Me Explain, The Lone Ranger, Pacific Rim, R.I.P.D., Red 2, Turbo, The Wolverine, and 2 GunsMovies, movies, movies!!!
